The Domination of the Week: Jeff 130.94 -- 103.98 Stacey
Futility of the Week: Brian, scoring the second most points in the league but falling to Derek who scored the most points.
Victory margins were close this week much the same as the closeness of the playoffs. Jeff's 27 point win over Stacey was the smallest domination of the week to date this season. The loss to Jeff marks 3 consecutive losses for Stace as she's fallen into 9th place and Jeff scales to 8th. Ethan made his streak 2 wins in a row with one over Heath this week and he joins Jeff and Stacey at 4-7 although he still sits in 10th place. The loss for Heath marks his 2nd in a row and joins Jake who found a win against Barr in the ever anticipated rubber match of the umbrella matchup at 5-6. Heath sits in 7th place while Jake, who has the edge in points for, occupies the 6th and final playoff spot... for now. DJ handled Evan who had probably the worst fantasy week in terms of injuries I've ever seen. With his loss, Evan joins Barr and Derek at 6-5 and is situated between the two of the standings. Derek is in 3rd, Ev in 4th, and Barr is desperately clinging to that 5th spot as he is generally concerned about his team having lost two straight. With his win in combination with Brian's loss, DJ moves into 1st place and is the first team to clinch a playoff berth. By my calculations, no team is out of the playoff hunt as of now.
Thursday Thanksgiving games saw a lot of points being had by many. Solid performances by Crowder and Moncrief delivered 33.30 points for Ethan but a monster 3 TD game from AB helped Brian keep pace with 32.10 points in their matchup. The third installment of the newlywed matchup began with Derek's Vikings defense coming back down to Earth after the traditional blow-up against Brian, but a great game by Elliott and nice outing by Hopkins (K) have Derek at a slim 37.00 - 32.60 lead over Stacey who saw a very nice game from DeSean Jackson and Riddick. The matchup of Heath vs Jake saw both teams initially falling short of projections as Hilton registered a sub-par game for Jake while Tate and Witten both delivered less than desirable performances for Heath. Heath has the lead 19.00 - 8.40. In probably the most crucial matchup of the week and maybe of the year, one team could tighten their grip on that final playoff spot. 4th place Evan and 5th place Barr are squaring off this week and Evan holds a slight advantage after the Thursday games behind a typically stellar effort by Bell. Bailey also notched a good performance while his defense, the cowboys, got him a nice goose egg. Meanwhile Barr had a solid performance from Big Ben but sub-par ones from his RB duo of Kelley and Gore. Hindsight will tell him he should have went with Jones. The final matchup is Jeff vs DJ and is off to a heated start. Jeff enjoyed a phenomenal performance from Reed and a good one from Dez, while DJ had Dak do his usual thing but surely desired more from Vinatieri who registered just 1 point. Jeff leads 43.70 - 22.70.
The matchups are getting ever more pivotal as the playoffs are just two weeks away. There is still much room to move both up and down in the standings and we are sure to see more fluctuation in this week and the next. I generally hope everyone had a great thanksgiving yesterday.
